This is my first post and instead of a boring introduction, I'm jumping right into "the heavy stuff". So many - too many - people my family loves have passed on recently. I attended my husband's grandma's funeral yesterday. It was a beautiful service. His cousins spoke of their memories, family memories, about Grandma, really captured who she was and what she meant to everyone. But she wasn't there to hear it.
It really made me think - something I've thought about before - why are we not saying these things when people can hear them? I'm as guilty of this as anyone; saying those things can be uncomfortable or embarrassing or make people question our reasons.
But we should say these things. I don't want one person I love to leave without knowing that I love them, why I love them, what they mean to me. So, my mission for 2012 will be to let those people know. This blog will be littered with my "living eulogies" - my tributes to those who mean the most to me.
